Got to headquarters at 8am, didn't know how to get into the warehouse. I sat in the office for a few minutes until S... (the bossman) came and got me. I left my helmet and gloves with him and got a ride to the base downtown (the Congress building).
Met B.... and walked with him all day. It was off and on pouring rain and though I wore a hoodie, I didn't have a hat and it was impossible to keep my dripping "emo-hawk" out of my face. Couldn't wear jeans and I didn't have tan pants, so wore a pair of brown knee-length knickers (may be good warm-weather wear) with a pair of orange and pink striped fuzzy kneesocks and was surprised by receiving only a single muppet comment.
With one walker on vacation and another out sick, that left two (April & B....) and a half (me) people to do the work of four. I left the house too quickly to eat in the morning, and thus survived on a jar of Earl Grey and some post-Easter special jellybeans until 1130, when I got a break from walking and hurriedly ate some veggies and rice while filling out paperwork (signing a paper emblazoned with DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY all over it makes me paranoid).
Met a ton of people (drivers, receptionists and etc.) for 30 seconds each and can't remember a single name except for P......, who swore up and down that he knew me from somewhere.
An observation: older buildings have a 13th floor, while newer ones do not. I'll take pictures of elevator buttons when i can.
Caught a bus back to headquarters (even one stop past fareless, the driver of the 15 made me pay, but I was 15 cents short), talked about comic books with S...., and went with my mom to the mall to buy some pants. Once home, I was exhausted and a bit sore, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it might've been.
